I have always had a princess mentality, and in my carnal mindedness, thought everything should be done for me..... When renewal came into my spirit I realized that the Lord wanted to use me, but first I needed to get over "self". As I began to ask the Lord how He would use me.... The Lord used a man of God to speak to me, He asked me a question, "What do you do at church?" As I sat there a member in my Church home at the time for 3 years, my answer was; nothing....I felt ashamed about my answer, because I had become a pew filler....The Man of God said something to me and it blessed me, he said what you do in the house of God shows your commitment to the things of God, and as you begin to serve in the house of the Lord you partake of the burden of the church..... The next day I began to pray about what the Lord will have me do at my local church, so I went to My pastor and he asked me to start preparing myself to stand before the congregation at the end of service to do the churches announcements. This duty at church was a start and direct link to aiding me in walking in my divine destiny!!
Being a women in ministry is not an easy thing, and sad to say but we have a lot of bad examples in church today. Instead of divas we need humble women who are willing to serve even if they receive no public recognition. Instead of control freaks we need leaders who will wash the feet of their daughters and push them to greatness while modeling sacrifice. Instead of flirts, we need mature women of faith that have crucified there flesh and adolescent fantasies. Rather than flakes who are tossed around by spiritual fads, we need discerning mothers who love biblical truth more than charismatic goosebumps. Rather than feminists, we need women who have resolved their issue with men and are willing to partner with them on equal footing. Rather then victims we need women in ministry who are emotionally healthy.
Don't be discouraged if you see yourself in any of these categories for I myself fall into a few, If you are called to leadership, God will guide the preparation process and He will bring mentors and positive role models in our life's to challenge and encourage us, if we allow the Holy Spirit to shape our character we will end up being the good example our churches are waiting to see.
Purpose is defined as " the reason something is was created; or done" So the question being asked here is a simple one, right? So why is it that we have so many people young and old that do not know why they were created? The answer is ones purpose is not so easy to find out, especially if one has little or no relationship with the one who created. While studying in college some few years back, I realized in my last year that the major I had been studying had no direct link with my passion in life, and had every link with the money I wanting to make in life. It was years later working in the field of study that I had no passion for I asked the Lord "How does passion, calling and purpose all relate?" The Lord answered me through his word saying "Many are the plans in a mans mind, but it is the Lords purpose for him that will stand" Proverbs 19:21 Wow!! I thought to myself I have been doing things all wrong, THE LORDS PURPOSE, of course he created us that would mean HE will know what he will use us for in this life!!! This revelation changed my life, and it goes back to the question being asked, The answer is a simple YES! We all have purpose but we desperatley need to search for our creator to find what is His purpose for creating us, then and only then can we reignite our passions as well as embrace our calling to find or create work that is meaningful, purposeful and profitable
