Will God??

Finding the will of God in life may be one of the greatest battles we face as believers. In my personal walk with Christ I realized it is a complicated issue because we all want to be aligned with God's perfect will for our lives, yet that perfect will is not easily discerned.  Naturally I'm a very strong willed person, I have always thought whatever I wanted out of life, I could apply myself and get, right? So wouldn't God be aligned with that? With this ambitious yet carnal mindset I always wondered why my plans would be frustrated; wasn't God on board?  Well many times when we say we are seeking God’s will, what we are really wanting to say to God is this: “OK, God, here’s what I’m planning to do. Now I need you to stamp your approval all right?” I must tell you that this is not really effective in finding His perfect will.

Before God will begin to reveal His will to us we must be committed to doing whatever it is that He desires for us to do. God will likely be slow to show you His plan if He knows you will likely not do what he has planned!! Struggling with finding God's will for my life I had to put all my selfish ambitions aside and inquire of the Lord asking: "How can I live my life in such a way that brings YOU the most Glory? I meditated on this question until the Lord spoke saying "Now u are asking the right questions" and it was then that he began to reveal His will for my life!! Praise God!!! I realize that we start with God, not us. If you are making decisions based primarily on what makes "me" happy, then we have our priorities backwards and we will stumble at every turn. God first, then ourselves, That’s the order laid out by Christ in Matthew 10:39, "If your first concern is to look after yourself, you'll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you'll find both yourself and me". Amen The will of God has to be discerned, and when we seek His will earnestly we will find it! Amen
